imageThank you, R, for the invite to the Crab Feed Fundraising Event last night, and for the opportunity to also be able to help a great cause. I hope TLC raised a bunch of money this year! Special regards to Planner Extraordinaire, D, for the successful event! (The Silent Auction tables were so crowded, I could only take a picture of one side during a moment of slowness. There was NASCAR, Golden State Warriors, Go Pro packages, and much, much more on the other side! There was even a dessert silent auction in the back of the room!)

D6: Inspiration Is Everywhere

D6: Inspiration Is Everywhere

We are lucky. There is inspiration everywhere… Even on sauce packets! We just need to be aware.

“I think the person who takes a job in order to live – that is to say, for the money [not for purpose or passion]- has turned himself into a slave.” –Joseph Campbell

20140911-174024.jpgOn Monday, I went in for an ultrasound of the mass found in my left breast.

The sonographer couldn’t tell me anything, but when I heard the doctor say, “let me calculate how much bigger it is,” I knew that things have changed. The mass had over doubled in size, in six months.

I decided that it would be best if I were to get a biopsy, but I wasn’t scheduled for one. However, it was as if the biopsy was meant to be, and everything worked out, and soon I was to be prepped for one.

The 15-minute wait in the dressing room was hard. The kind nurse asked if I wanted my sister to sit with me there, but I chose to be alone. But I was alone with my thoughts, and while I didn’t see my life pass before me, I did think about how I lived and what I have yet to accomplish in my life. Then the regrets. When the nurse came to check on me, the tears wouldn’t stop.

During the prep and the biopsy, my tears quietly fell. The doctor and the sonographer were kind and empathetic, and were very gentle with me.

Today, I received a call from the kind nurse who helped me on Monday, and I was grateful to hear that the biopsy of the mass was benign.

I believe this was another wake up call for me, and I believe it is time for me to begin to follow my personal legend.

20140829-062917.jpgDay 14 – Living With Passion

Today’s quote is from Andreas Moritz. “You can only feel creative when there is joy. When there is a sense of passion.”

Today’s centering thought is My happiness energizes and inspires me.

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Rhabasa Hum, which means “I am pure delight.”

From today’s message:
Today we will explore passion at a deeper level as we connect to what really matters, the source of passion within us. If we can access that infinite source of passion and joy inside, then we can live passion in all areas of our life.

At its source, passion is not associated with any particular object, it is rather a deep feeling of exaltation or even spiritual ecstasy. It is the happiness of life exulting in its own existence. Today we will tap into that blissful core of existence and let our passion flow from that place.”

The fourteenth day of Oprah and Deepak Chopra’s Expanding Your Happiness Meditation Experience was about living with passion.

How do you know when you are living with passion?

Oprah answered that it is when you lose yourself in what you are passionately doing. “It means you are fully in alignment with your most extraordinary, highest self. Whatever you’re doing, you’re immersed in the flow. You are manifesting the magnificence of your very being, and all is sublime. That, my Friends, is happiness in it’s most exalted state and it’s yours simply by being who you are. That is the promise of the divine within you.”

I remember when I would allow the muse to be in control. Sometimes, I wouldn’t be able to sleep until whatever piece or chapter in my head was on paper or the computer. It was that strong.

After I started my Spiritual path, my passions seemed heightened for many things. I would feel an overflow of emotions for them. Sometimes that is scary to me–for someone that was unused to that or didn’t, at one point, let her emotions get even on the surface.

When I do some of my prayers or healing, I sometimes get very emotional or passionate about it. Maybe it is because I would feel such deep connection during that time.

Deepak said that “What makes spiritual passion unique is the wisdom comes packaged with the enthusiasm of the passion we are used to. Passion of any kind opens the flow of life that we can’t help but enjoy. Spiritual passion turns enjoyment into exultation. You feel uplifted by your soul.”

Maybe that is it. That is when I feel most connected to my Highest Self.

20140608-233601.jpgA song popped into my head this morning as I was getting ready. I didn’t really know the lyrics, and it wasn’t a song I have heard recently, so I looked it up on the web, and it ended up being “Raging Fire” by Phillip Phillips.

You can find the official video here.

I read the lyrics and it was profound to me. To me, it was like a “calling in the soulmate” type song.

I have been working on myself, for spiritual growth and to get ready for a romantic soulmate. It has not been easy, but I have worked through a lot of things, including work on releasing the past, forgiving, and letting go.

Lately, I feel like I have reached a milestone type growth in this area, so maybe things that are coming up, some of the dreams I have been getting, and also this song may be suggesting that I am nearly ready for a romantic soulmate relationship, and that maybe one is in the works for me.

So I am grateful for this possibility. I think I may be ready to share with another person… To love, to grow with, and to experience a heightened kind of passion and love. I don’t know how or when, but I will trust and be open to love. 😊

20140430-124032.jpgWhen I first laid eyes on “Exsomnis” by Tomasz Rut, I was rooted (sorry for the pun) to the spot. It was one of the featured art for auction on a cruise that I took in 2012.

I was really simply there to view what was going to be auctioned that day, but I found myself in front of “Exsomnis” several times.

It pulled on my heartstrings like you wouldn’t believe. It touched me to the very core of my being. It shined a beacon on what was missing in my heart… in my life… It left me both devastated and breathless at the same time.

At the last minute, I made the bid for it, and luckily, I was the only bidder.

Exsomnis,” which means “Sleepless” in Latin, hangs over my bed, so I get to see it every single day, with hopes of one day finding and connecting with that one man, the Imzadi, with whom I can share such passion with.

This is my Happy for Day 11… “Exsomnis.”
