20140726-083832.jpgDay 5 – Love and Meditation Should Go Hand in Hand

Thought for the day: I ground my love through daily meditation

Daily Quote:
Be ordinary. Nothing is wrong with ordinariness, because in your very ordinariness you are extraordinary.” ~Osho

Today’s message from Osho is about how Love and Meditation together will bring you harmony.

Going within… To calm yourself, your mind… will give you the chance to find clarity and solutions to any problems, including those arising from love.

Funny how I just wrote that–“problems arising from love.” Lately, I have been thinking how the idea of love can get so blurred. Love is the ultimate gift, but sometimes it gets terribly blamed for all sorts of things between people.

It is an innocent bystander, but sometimes it is used to close one’s heart, i.e. “I have loved, got hurt, don’t want to love again.” Sometimes it is used as a weapon, i.e. “I can’t believe I ever loved someone like you.” I could go on and on with more examples from what is happening in our society today.

Imagine if even only one person in a relationship meditate. This person will have found the gift of self-love, would have the clarity and focus to steer drama away and find solutions to couple problems he/she can bring to the table.

Imagine if both people meditate. They will probably have more love to give to one another, more harmony, less drama, and less strain.

The message followed with a lesson in meditation where you imagine your heart center (chakra) as a bud. You could choose any flower you wish. You expel all the air in your lungs, pause, and when the air rushes back in, allow the petals of your flower to bloom.

What a beautiful meditation! It’s a moment where you are allowing your “heart” to open, allowing for self-love, and allowing for love to grow for others.

This meditation can also be used when you are feeling anxious, jealous, etc., to let love back in! I really like day 5’s lesson.

From the course:
When you are in love, don’t forget meditation… Love is only going to show you who you are, where you are. And it is good that love makes you alert…Now is the time to meditate. If love and meditation go together, you will have both wings, you will have a balance. Love and meditate, meditate and love, and slowly, slowly you will see a new harmony arising in you. Only that harmony will make you contented.”

20140505-023603.jpgWow! An extra day of Oprah and Deepak Chopra’s Finding Your Flow Meditation Experience. I am grateful!

I woke up in the middle of the night, and in my restlessness, found this gem in my inbox! What a beautiful gift to receive, right?

Today’s meditation is on “Expressing Global Peace.” There are a few things I want to share from the meditation:

Oprah mentions, “we are the Peace we want to see in our world.”

Deepak shares why there isn’t a chakra for harmony and balance. “These things aren’t separate from the whole. True peace belongs to your whole being.”

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” —Gautama Buddha

Deepak ends asking us to be in harmony with each other for this will lead to peace.

As we radiate our true selves and our beautiful Light, we can help spread kindness to each other and promote peace outside of ourselves–to everyone in the world. I believe that kindness is one of the ways to peace. Imagine if we each, in this world, shared an act of kindness today… what miracles we can expect! Peace and harmony start with us.

20140505-024934.jpgToday’s centering thought is “my peace is the peace of the world..”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Shanti, which means “I feel my Being as the Being of all creation..”
