I am grateful for these quotes and reminders.

“Everyone is scared of being the one who cares too much, love too much – this is why relationships fall apart.”

How true is this? Love is a gift, but it is also kinda scary.

I, for one, have the capacity to love and care deeply and that is especially scary to me. We need to learn for ourselves how to feel safe and secure to care and love deeply, regardless of the outcome.

To share love is a beautiful gift. To share love unconditionally is the ultimate gift–certainly to the other person, but more so as a gift to our own selves.

It means that our hearts have expanded and we have become aware of love and the connection we all share with each other.

This gift makes us more empathetic, kind, grateful to one another, compassionate, and considerate to one another. We would, in our own way, help make this world a better place not only for ourselves and our loved ones, but for others too. How cool is that?

Day 6: Beyond Fear

Day six of the Spirit of Mantra meditation series was about embracing fear and other negative emotions to bring forth inner growth.  Deva Premal and Miten mentioned that we spend a lot of our time trying to dispel negative emotions or avoid them, but we can grow so much by experiencing them.

For Deval Premal, she once transmuted her anger to a blissful experience.  Per Miten, you could dispel fear by bringing light into darkness.

Personally, I still have a problem with embracing my fears or any negative emotion.  I learn a lot from them, and try not to let them burden me, but I am not sure what else to do but face them.  Would experiencing or embracing them, the same as facing them?

This mantra was beautiful though and Deva Premal encouraged you to dance to it. I bought it to add to my meditation playlist to help me dance away fears or any negative emotions I may face.

20140419-073839.jpgHave you ever met someone with whom you have a strong connection with?  That must be a soul mate.  Soul mates come as a parent, a friend, a sibling, a lover, or a stranger.  They stay for all of your life or even just for a moment.

When I was younger, I used to believe that soul mates bring love, joy, happiness, and only good things, but I came to know the real truth… They come to give opportunities for growth, and these opportunities can be good, bad, or even in between.  They make you look at yourself, and face a choice–change and grow, or remain the same.

I have someone in my life that bring me a lot of growth. He doesn’t realize what I mean when tell him I am grateful to him because I am growing so much…becoming much more aware.  When we interact, I get a chance to test all that I have learned.

Starting on Thursday, I started to have a hard time with just going with the flow.  With this man, I started to become anxious.  I tried to do my best to keep busy and meditate, and not feel so anxious. By Friday, my anxiousness grew too much. When I heard from him, with a change of plans, I chose to respond with fear.  After going through what happened for the umpteenth time, I realized that things became weird because of a lot of misunderstandings.  Then I felt a deep sorrow for what had happened.

Fear is a terrible thing.  A terrible thing indeed.  It makes you do stupid things.  I realized just how much I still had to work on, because of fear.  How much more I had to face, and to break.

Going with the flow was hard the last couple of days. I had to do A LOT of work to get back to it. A LOT of work on self-love, on self-worth, on forgiveness…  I had to get back to the flow, so I reached in, and made a choice to get up from my fall.

My mom and Aunt decided to watch the movie, Heaven Is For Real, last night, and had a ticket for me too.  It was a good rendition of the book, and made me feel better about things, having watched something so wholesome and good.  I was able to sleep well, with dreams still to sort through, but it brought new understanding this Easter day.

Today’s Finding The Flow mediation on “finding consciousness,” helped, as well as the gathering with family.  The path to surrender and going with the flow has not always been easy for me, but I choose to continue with this journey, and continue to learn to trust.

20140419-143520.jpgI am grateful for day 6 of Oprah and Deepak Chopra’s Finding Your Flow Meditation Experience.

So far, we have had the following meditations:
Day 1: Finding Security (Lam)
Day 2: Finding Happiness (Yam)
Day 3: Finding Power (Ram)
Day 4: Finding Love (Vam)
Day 5: Finding Expression (Ham)

I needed today’s meditation in a big way. Sometimes, in life, we hit a patch and we seek the comfort of what we know.

Yesterday afternoon, I chose fear, instead of love, because it was familiar and because I was scared, but I knew that was the wrong choice.

Today is a new day, and I am able to see much more clearly why I made the choice that I did and what impact my choice will have in my life.

I realized how much more work I need to do on myself and in facing and breaking fears. I can learn and grow by tuning into the wisdom within.

Today’s centering thought is “my wisdom is within.”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Om, which means “I am wisdom.”

You can never have enough! This one is on my refrigerator door, and has been reminding me for a couple of months now.

Do you have one? What does it say?

I was speaking to A on the phone and she told me she “looked up to me.”

What? LOL! Why? HaHa!

I guess my blog and what I have been doing to face my fears and my work on myself has somehow inspired her. Her words totally made me feel confuzzled and happy at the same time.

Interestingly enough, after I wrote my NaBloPoMo post for today, Stressor, sharing my fear to love, I found Oprah’s Spirituality 101 show on demand and Oprah explained that spirituality to her is… “a calling on your life. It means you live your life without fear and you know that no matter what happens, no matter what happens, you are going to be alright. You are going to be alright.”

What a nice thing to hear after what I shared. It was a great reminder to me, just like the message (“It is safe for you to love”) on the image above from Doreen Virtue’s The Romance Angels Oracle Cards or when I hear the song, “Brave,” by Sara Bareilles, or the story of Monica George, or the other reminders I encounter on a daily basis to open my heart or be courageous.

I am grateful for these reminders.
