Day 4: Radiant Health

Day four of the Spirit of Mantra meditation series was about healing, and the mantra, per Miten, had the potential to open the third eye chakra to allow for healing on every level.

The first line addressed our own inner sage, our higher self.  The second stanza gave energy with Grace. It was meant to honor each other and radiate love. The third line readied us for liberation, and the fourth line freed us from the illusion of life and death to realize our immortality, the eternal life of our soul.

I did this meditation last night, four different times.  That’s excessive, right?  There was a reason for that.  The “Om Triambakam” was the first mantra meditation that I felt any major sensations since hearing Deva Premal and Miten’s Gayatri Mantra.

I only wanted to listen to the meditation to get a feel for it first before actually doing it, and I had decided to play it while I was in bed.  I fell into a theta state where I was between sleep and wake state.  While I was waking, I felt almost my entire body vibrate powerfully.  In my sleepy mind, I thought my cat was purring beside me, but as I was waking, I heard his metal name tag hit his metal water bowl in the other room.  It was a very interesting situation for me, to say the least.  Of course, I had to try it over and over again in order to figure out what was happening to me.  The sensations and vibrations decreased with each time, probably because I was in scientific investigation mode.

I don’t recommend doing the meditation more than two times at a given cycle.  By the fourth time, my hands and arms got really tired and numb from all the vibrations. The after sensation on my arms and hands was akin to when you have used a power tool (i.e. jack hammer, any tool that vibrates, etc) for a long time, and you stop. Your arms and hands end up being numb and achy.  That’s what I felt after the 4th time doing the meditation.

Since this is a healing mantra, perhaps it was healing my arms and hands, which I use for energetic healing. I am not sure. I still don’t know much about mantras and how they work. I suppose that if you are in a theta state, any mantra or meditation will be intensified or elevated.

This mantra meditation journey had two mantra song versions.  The first one was “Om Triambakam Mantra (Wellness)” from the album, A Deeper Light.  The second set, “Om Triambakam,” was from the album, MantraLove.  Due to my experiences, I ended up buying the two mantra songs to add them to my meditation playlist for more healing experiences.

I don’t know if you will experience what I did.  I believe that we each have our own set of learning in life and our experiences, even if we are learning the same concepts, may come in different ways. However, I wish you the very best during your own journey.

Mantra:
OM Triambakam Yajamahe
Sugandhim Pushti Vardanam
Urvar-Ukamiva Bandhanan
Mrityor Muksheeya Mamritat

Meaning:
I bow down to the one who sees with the third eye. Bless me with health and immortality and sever me from the clutches of death, even as cucumber is cut from its creeper.

Inner Tuning:
I invoke the spirit of this mantra, which opens the channel of healing through the clear vision of the ‘third eye’ – where masculine and feminine energies become one – with the understanding that all life, in its true nature, is eternal.

20140504-221251.jpgI am grateful that the Mentors Channel has another meditation series.  This time with Deva Premal and Miten.

I first heard of Deva Premal and Miten during the 21 Days of Gratitude, presented by Louie Schwartzberg. Deva Premal and Miten’s chanting and music are both soothing and passionate at the same time.  When you listen to their work, you can feel such a rich sensuality that really draws you in. I have never done chanting meditations before, so I am intrigued to embark on this new adventure.

For an idea of what they do, please check out The Gayatri Mantra Made Visible video.

According to the site, “the Gayatri Mantra is said to be the oldest and most powerful of mantras, purifying the person chanting it as well as the listener.” The video shows how water responds to the Gayatri Mantra through Cymatics.

It is pretty cool to watch, but if you close your eyes, stay very still, and just focus on the mantra chanting, you can feel the chanting reverberate through you and around you. I think it was also raising my vibrational energy. I have never felt anything like it before!

I have been listening to the Gayatri Mantra (and trying to finish this post–I keep adding to it) over the last few days. Each time, there was a lot of activity in all my chakra centers. One time, most of the concentration were in my heart, throat, and third eye chakras. Another time was mostly in my crown chakra.

Had I not done the Finding Your Flow meditation journey with Oprah and Deepak, I may not have realized what was happening with my chakras.

Your experiences with the Gayatri may be different from mine, and I wouldn’t be able to explain it to you. Maybe you can explain it me? I am finding my experiences to be amazing, and clearly sets my Aquarian curiosity ablaze with questions and a want to understand more about the Gayatri Mantra. It falls under weird, cool, and goose bump (in a good way) territory for me! I am now very excited about the 21 day journey.

The mantra meditation journey starts on May 14, and the whole 21 day experience is free. From the information available, the mantras will focus on helping to deal with life’s daily challenges, healing body, mind, and spirit, and much more. For more information, please visit the links below.

20140427-030245.jpgThis is the second week of Oprah and Deepak Chopra’s Finding Your Flow Meditation Experience. Week two focuses on connecting with the seven chakra centers to “build a grounded state of peace and possibility.” Week two will activate what we found within last week.

So far, we have experienced the following meditations (earlier posts below):
Day 7: Finding Consciousness (Sahasrara Im)
Day 8: Activating Security (Om Dakini Namaha)
Day 9: Activating Happiness (Om Rakini Namaha)
Day 10: Activating Power (Om Lakini Namaha)
Day 11: Activating Love (Om Kakini Namaha)
Day 12: Activating Expression (Om Shakini Namaha)
Day 13: Activating Wisdom (Om Hakini Namaha)

I cannot believe we are already on the 14th day of this meditation journey. Today we activate the 7th Chakra, the Crown Chakra, which will help us align with “natural and divine consciousness.”

There are no words about this meditation that I can express better than the following…

From Oprah: “When you feel the flow of love and light filing you up, you are experiencing your true self. You are awakening the profound power of pure consciousness… pure awareness. You are able to bask in the magnificence of simply being. Trusting that your being, in itself, is connected to all that is.”

From Deepak: “Living as your true self is enlightenment. When you love simply being alive, when you feel as if love and light are filing you up, you are experiencing your true self. These are enlightened moments. Your life is meant to be harmonious and free. Today’s spiritual secret is incredibly simply… Being here is enough.”

By activating the crown chakra, we tap into creativity, intelligence, confidence, and joy so that we can link our everyday selves to our true selves… to help us flow more with life with ease. It “wakes” us up to all that is, and be able to understand the true magnificence that we truly are, and what we can offer in this life.

Today’s centering thought is “my life energy radiates the light of Being.”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Om Katyayani Namaha, which means “I activate my pure awareness.”

Day 11: Activating Love (Om Kakini Namaha)
Day 12: Activating Expression (Om Shakini Namaha)

Today we activate the 6th Chakra, the Brow (Third Eye) Chakra, which will help us get in tune with our intuition.

Intuition is that inner knowingness. We all have this in us, kind of a built-in mechanism, but sometimes we have a hard time listening or even trusting it. Sometimes, we even block our receptivity to it. For me, that happens when I worry or doubt or when I am riding an emotional roller coaster.

I was more intuitive as a child, when I had utmost trust in the flow. As I grew older, I gave in to outer guidance more and more.

Today, I am trying to reclaim what I once had as a child, because I am realizing for myself that when I trust my intuition, things are easier, I make better choices, my perception is better, and I feel less like I am swimming upstream in life.

Today’s centering thought is “my inner wisdom wisely guides my actions.”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Om Hakini Namaha, which means “I activate my intuition.”

20140425-054111.jpgToday we activate the 5th Chakra, the Throat Chakra, which will help us to fully express our truth and our most authentic selves. In doing so, we can immerse ourselves in “creative unlimited joy!”

When we express our truth and vision, we create a better inner reality for us, one that is more positive. It is akin to choosing how to perceive our experiences–choosing to be happy, choosing to see love, rather than fear, etc. We are set free, and we can be in a more optimistic space, able to share kindness, love, forgiveness, and be willing and able to take more risks in life, for better fulfillment in it.

Today’s centering thought is “my life energy expresses its truth.”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Om Shakini Namaha, which means “I activate my creativity.”

Last week, we worked on finding love within. Today, we work on activating that love by working on the heart chakra. This will help in gently breaking down any blocks to love, so that you are more open to experience this beautiful energy, starting from inside you.

I love this from today’s meditation preface: “Love is compassionate and forgiving… it unites even while it celebrates differences. You don’t need to look outside yourself to awaken this love. It is present in your heart chakra, right now and always.”

To reinforce that Deepak shared this from Rumi. “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

What powerful messages these are. Personally, I am still working on self-love to make my heart into a “magical kitchen” like what Don Miguel Ruiz wrote in The Mastery of Love. To have such a heart is the ultimate in giving unconditional love not just to those you care for, but for everyone you encounter in this life, and most of all, to give to yourself.

If you think about it…

Who gets more flack from us? We do. We are often much harder on ourselves…

Who needs unconditional love from us the most? We do.

Today’s centering thought is “my life energy is love.”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Om Kakini Namaha, which means “I activate my love.”

A few weeks ago, my Acupuncturist started to help me with my yang, because it was weak; therefore, so was my energy core–my solar plexus. While she was using pressure points to activate that for me to ensure proper energy flow, I decided to do meditations and visualizations to empower my solar plexus. One of the things I do is envision my solar plexus chakra spinning and getting brighter and brighter golden yellow, and then the golden yellow energy flowing out of my chakra to fill my whole entire body–until you are completely golden! Now how do you feel? Hopefully, ready to go on an adventure!

When your solar plexus is weak, so too will you feel week and tired all the time. Your spleen and stomach gets affected and your body can’t metabolize your food well or derive nutrients from what you eat. You start to lose focus and clarity, and maybe even get depressed and/or have low-esteem issues.

Today’s meditation activates the solar plexus (third) chakra and helps align us “with the infinite source of true strength and power.” By harnessing this power in us, we can utilize it to get us going to accomplish all that we want to manifest in this life.

Today’s centering thought is “my life energy organizes life effortlessly.”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Om Lakini Namaha, which means “I activate my power.”

Oprah mentions in the meditation that we activate our happiness by focusing on our dreams and desires, and seeing them as “wonderful little clues that guide us to a state of happiness, in all areas of our lives.”

Today, we activate the sacral chakra. It is the seat of self-worth, creativity, sexuality, relationships, happiness, pleasure, and bliss, and activates emotional satisfaction.

Deepak mentions that in Indian tradition, desire is celebrated as a divine gift, because desire “motivates us to get up in the morning to seek satisfaction and happiness.”

By focusing on and nurturing what we love to be, to do, to have, to experience… we can bring them closer into manifesting in our lives.

Today’s centering thought is “my life energy is bringing me pleasure.”

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is om rakini namaha, which means “I activate my happiness.”
