I am grateful to Liz of Liz Who Motivates for nominating me for the “One Lovely Blog” award. The nomination post can be found here.

I unfortunately dropped out of the blogging scene for several months, and I wasn’t able to complete the acceptance until now.  So I am giving this nomination the delayed, but respected, due it deserves.  I am using the format from Liz’s nomination, as well as the modification.

The “One Lovely Blog” award is designed for:

1. Those new or up-and-coming-bloggers acknowledging their blogging efforts so as to increase their blog readership

2. Are chosen by their fellow blogging comrades for having a “lovely” blog as they share their stories and thoughts in a poetic or beautiful manner as they connect with their loyal audience of readers and followers.

In order to “accept’ the award one must follow the below guidelines (which have been modified):

1. Acknowledge the person who nominated you

2. Post the One Lovely Blog logo to your post and/or blog

3. List 7 interesting facts or things about yourself

4. Nominate 5 (modified from 15) lovely blogs you admire by informing them of their award nomination on their blog

Thank you,  Liz (Liz Who Motivates), for nominating me. I’m sorry this took so long to complete, but I appreciate your nomination and for all that you do in motivating others!

My 7 facts/things:

1. Before I die, I would like to fully able to converse in at least 7 languages. Currently, I am learning Korean. I can speak English, French, Japanese, and Tagalog. I learned Mandarin and Fukien when I was a small child, but I also stopped at a young age. I hope to relearn them, along with Cantonese. Next is Spanish.  I also want to learn Latin (with the mindset that if I can learn this root language, I will be able to understand the other romance languages… maybe…)

2. I prefer the smell of coffee to actually drinking it. I drink it black.

3. I am an energetic healer. (The way I heal others is similar to, but not the same as, Reiki)

4. I was pretty photogenic when I was younger, but I prefer to take the pictures than to be in it.

5. I can recreate dishes by taste. As long as I know the taste of a component, I am able to distinguish it.

6. I inherited my soprano singing voice from my maternal grandmother. Although I do not sing professionally, it is an honor to sing the songs she had loved. The last song I sang for her was “Ave Maria” at her funeral.

7. I have a distinct view of marriage, and that may be why I remain single. In these days of divorce, I do not want to marry unless I have found the perfect marriage partner. My idea of the perfect marriage partner is someone who wants the “real thing” and will continue to invest in love and the marriage until “death do us part.”

My 5 nominees:

Bonne Vivante Life –

Obzervashunal –

Ruth Williams –

The Law of Attraction and Your Momentum –

Ramblings and Musings –

Liz’s Nomination Post

20140807-183145.jpgI am grateful to Liz of Liz Who Motivates for nominating me for the One Lovely Blog Award. Wow! I am very thankful.

The nomination post can be found here. I will try to complete the acceptance as soon as I can.

OWN and Super Soul Sunday came out with a cool image and I wanted to share!

“To be broken is no reason to see all things as broken.” ~Mark Nepo

Then there is my beautiful and fun luggage and my über protective travel bag that I am grateful for.

Yesterday, my manager was at my work building rather than in San Francisco. In our staff meeting, he mentioned where he was, and I asked, “was it for the ice cream?” To which, he laughed. We had an employee appreciation ice cream social at my building, you see.

During the recognition portion of the meeting, he announced that he was getting up to walk a few steps to hand me a milestone award. One of the reason why he was on-site. How cool, right?

If you have been following for awhile, you know that I love food–to talk about it, to create it, to play with it, etc. So… I got a little distracted by the free ice cream yesterday, and forgot about my award! HaHa!

I think that the fountain at work is serving as a water hole for some of God’s creatures! These geese stopped by (I am unsure which, but one of them is known to preen in front of the reflective walls of the building), and I managed to take an image of how the crow drinks from the fountain. How clever!

Tonight, I went to a family friend’s viewing and prayer. I can’t fathom what it is like to lose a parent. I can understand a little of the pain, having lost three grandparents within 4 years, but not that kind of a loss, and hopefully, not for a long time.

I listened to Uncle N‘s four boys talk about their “Papa”, their memories with him, what they’ve learned from him, and what they hope to be… Their words (and those of others who also spoke) were touching. Uncle N was a good man.

My memories of Uncle N are those of a tall, kind of beefy, man with a booming voice and a big personality. He also had a wonderful smile. That’s how I would like to remember him.

I took some time off to go to his funeral tomorrow, and bid him farewell, for now. I am sure he is watching from heaven, watching over his beautiful wife and the grown boys he is very proud of, and sending his love to them.

On December 13, Ultra Love Solutions nominated me for the WordPress Family Award.  It came at a very good time for me.  As I have previously posted, I am currently working on May Cause Miracles and it’s not easy work because you have to face a lot of your fears, and this award, that night, made me feel very much a part of a caring family.  😉

The WordPress Family Award

“I start this award on the basis that the WordPress family has taken me in, and showed me love …. The way people take a second to be nice, to answer a question …. I wanted to leave my own legacy … as many have done before. This represents ‘Family’ we never meet …. It is my honor to start this award.”~  Shaun from Praying For One Day

Award Recognition Procedure

  1. Display the award logo on your blog.
  2. Link back to the person who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 10 others you see as having an impact on your wordpress experience and family.
  4. Let your 10 Family members know you have awarded them.
    That is it.

Just please pick 10 people that have taken you as a friend, and spread the love.

Choosing just 10 people (and their blogs) is a very hard thing to do! Here are the 10 “family members” who made me feel a part of the WordPress family…

Andrew was my very first follower and made me feel welcome.

Monica always made time to read my stuff!

CBurns always encouraged.

Introverted Spectrum is like my little sister in my WordPress family.

Nerd in the Brain, because I am nerdly too!

Cllecr is a blog kindred spirit.

Cristin loves adventures and so do I!

Anne Chace likes to share!

Romantics should stick together!

Capt. Jill and I love corny jokes!
