I am grateful for another award from Ultra Love Solutions!

I am just truly happy that people actually visit and read my posts… This gift… I am truly honored and very blessed to receive it.

I am so grateful for this award from Nerd In The Brain Wow! It was the first gift that “flowed” into my life today, and certainly gave my soulful adventure and bucket list item on Trust The Flow, a wonderful blessing and send off!  It made me smile! It made my morning! It made my day! It’s gonna make my month! What a truly cool gift this year! This is going into my memory box!

Thank you so much for this amazing award. I very much appreciate this!

Please visit Nerd In The Brain‘s site because it is one of the most creative blogs out there with super cool ideas to read about and do!  It promotes educational items, but also ideas and games like the Zombie Survival STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Challenges for families and friends to do!  Their brand is cool!

Oh, and please check out the microbes!  I think Eli is the best!

20141012-091830.jpgHow did I miss it! My blog turned a year old, and I missed it. LOL! Busy-ness, Life, et al… Ah, the trappings of life!

I am grateful I found this notification as a reminder of how much I do love my blog–eventhough I haven’t spent as much time on it lately–save for my gratitude journal which is reaching a year! Wow!

I also miss visiting your blogs and reading your posts, too. I was glad I had some moments to visit some blogs this morning. Soon though, I will have more time to do so. I can’t wait to visit yours and read your latest thoughts, poems, and stories!

20140422-060127.jpgThank you so much, BePresentYoga, for this Liebster Award!  I am very honored to receive it. Here is my official acceptance.

The rules for this Liebster Award are:
1. Thank the blogger who gives it to you.
2. Answer the eleven questions he/she asks.
3. Nominate eleven bloggers with less than 500 followers.
4. Ask these eleven bloggers eleven questions.
5. Let these bloggers know that I have nominated them.

Here are my answers to BePresentYoga’s questions:
1. If you could change careers and start a brand new one tomorrow. What would you do?

I would like to be an Executive Chef getting my creative groove on inventing new dishes and learning about and playing with Molecular Gastronomy!

Be a sidekick to Andrew Zimmern on Bizarre Foods! I’ll even try all he’s trying, even if they creep me out.

2. You win a 2 week vacation, all expenses paid. Where would you go?

It would be nice to take a small portion of a world cruise. Maybe an Asian or European one. That would be lovely. Can I please win it now? 😉

3. You’ve been given one super power. What would you choose?

I would like to be able to release people from their pain, so that they can move on with their lives much more easily. Kind of like how Rogue from X-Men could take people’s powers by touch, but I would like to be able to turn it on and off at will.

4 & 5. You have the opportunity to create a cure for one disease. What would it be and why?

Nerve damage. When there is nerve damage, and this can cause severe excruciating nerve pain, it really affects the quality of life. I have experienced nerve pain, and most recently due to a pinched nerve from the herniated disc I ended up dealing with.

I am one of the lucky ones who was able to heal without surgery through acupuncture, and I seem to be beating nerve and chronic pain. The medication for pain, nerve pain, and chronic pain are so bad! They made me feel so much worse than the pain I was experiencing. I am glad I am free of them as well, again through acupuncture.

6. You could have dinner and discussion with anyone living or dead. Who would you choose?

Dr. Brian Weiss. I find his work on past life regressions and future life progressions very interesting and inspiring. I would love to have a chance to learn more from him.

7. Favorite movie?

A Little Bit Of Heaven, starring Kate Hudson and Gael García Bernal. It’s about a woman, Marley Corbett, who has a great life, awesome friends, and a promising career. One day, she learns she has terminal cancer. She finds a way to accept her fate with dignity, and even open herself to love. She lives her life and loves fully until the very end.

8. Favorite childhood memory?

I learned how to drive a manual when I was 8 years old. My Dad’s late younger brother, who was about 13 years older than me, indulged precocious me. No coconut trees were harmed during his tutelage. While I can drive automatic cars, I only mainly drive manual cars.

9. If you could make a living writing on any topic. What topic would you choose?

10. Why did you start your blog?

My first, and deactivated blog, was created (in November of 2012) because I needed an outlet. I suffered from the most excruciating pain I have ever known. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t walk, and I felt helpless. It was a way for me to understand what was happening to me, but at the same time, learn to be open and continue to remain positive.

This second blog is about how I am progressing to living my life fully, soulfully, meaningfully, and joyfully. I am grateful that I seem to be beating chronic and nerve pain, and I am grateful that I can walk again, play again, and just be truly grateful for the gift of life. I had taken my life for granted. Not anymore.

11. You have the chance to guest star on your favorite TV show. Which show would you pick?

For someone who doesn’t watch that much TV, so many shows come to mind. I would like to guest star in The Big Bang Theory. The show is just too funny.

Here are my eleven nominees:

365 Simplify –

Bavarian Dreams 4 Ever –

Breathe This Life –

Jeffrey Vionito (Freedom of the Heart) –

Liz Isaacs (Liz Who Motivates) –

Madhuri (Effloresce23) –

Minus The Box –

Nerd In The Brain –

Pamela Morse –

Tonya (Lost In Expressions) –

Wendy (Ramblings and Musings) –

Here are my eleven questions for the nominees:

1. What message of wisdom or encouragement do you wish someone had said to you early on in life?

2. What message of wisdom or encouragement do you want to impart right now?

3. If today was your last day of life, what is one thing you would want to leave as a legacy?

4. What does the word “contentment” mean to you?

5. You are given a free day! No worries, no responsibilities! What is the first thing you are going to do?

6. What three positive words describe you or want to be known as?

7. If you could move to another country at a drop of a hat, where would you make your new home and why?

8. Name your favorite color, and now rename it to something much cooler and creative.

9. What would be your last meal on earth?

10. What is your current mantra or affirmation?

11. I love bacon, and personally, I prefer the fat of the bacon more than the meat part. I also like the icing on cakes more than the cake itself. How about you?

20140111-205612.jpgThank you again, Tina, for the Liebster Award!  Here is my official acceptance.

The rules for accepting this Liebster Award are:
1. Link back the blogger that tagged you
2. Nominate ten others and answer the questions of the one who tagged you
3. Ask ten questions for the bloggers you nominate
4. Let your nominees know of their award

Please note: I understand the Liebster Award to be for new blogs, but I can’t always see the number of followers.  However, the rules above doesn’t state the number of followers, and I consider the blogs I nominated (scroll below for the list) as still newly discovered by me.  Please excuse the little Aquarian’s tiny rebellion. This is all done with love. 😉

Here are my answers to Tina’s questions:
1. What book that you’ve recently read has made the greatest impression on you?

May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein has made the greatest impression on me.  It’s a 42-day guidebook to change your perception to a more loving, forgiving, and grateful way.  At the end of the project, you would have broken through some or many fears and learn to expect miracles!

2. What is your favourite song (of all time, or just for now), and why?

Unconditionally” by Katy Perry is my most favorite song. It is about loving someone unconditionally, through acceptance of the other person for who they truly are. It’s a beautiful song.  I play it all the time to not only give myself unconditional love (I’m pretty hard on myself), but also because I want unconditional love to be my way of life.  I want to truly be able to give unconditional love to everyone I meet for harmonious interactions with them.  As in Don Miguel Ruiz’s book, The Mastery of Love, I want to make my heart a magical kitchen that can give love, without wanting or needing it returned, because my heart would always be whole and always be filled with love.  This is a huge project, but something I truly want to achieve for myself.

3. Do you have any pets?

I do! I have a cat.  He was the family cat, until about 3 years ago, when he moved in with me.  I think he is the boss of me.  SIGH! LOL!

Except for two very small tuffs (nearly invisible unless you are truly looking for them) of white hair, he is nearly black in color, so I called him Lucky when he first came to be with us. His other name is Mini Panther because for such a tiny runt with very delicate bone structure and small paws, he grew to be very huge!

4. What’s your favourite home-cooked meal?

This is hard, because I love food so much. HaHa!  I like to make Chawanmushi, which is a Japanese steamed egg dish.  You mix beaten egg with broth, along with other ingredients and steam it.  It is a very yummy, but low calorie dish.  I am planning on putting the recipe up, so please stay tuned.

5. If you could spend one week in a city (or other place) of your choice, where would you go and why?

In Europe, I really liked Venice. I was twenty when I toured Europe, and in looking back, I don’t think I truly appreciated that gift for what it was.  I want to go back to Europe and have a do over, but Venice stayed in my heart.  At that age, I thought it was the most romantic place in the world.  I still think it would be an awesome place for a honeymoon.

In Asia, I would like to go back to Hong Kong and do more sightseeing and tasting, especially the night markets (which at the time of my visit, I didn’t know much about).

6. What’s the best thing about your neighbourhood?

I like that it is quiet and family oriented.

7. What’s your least-favourite household chore?

Cleaning grout! I need to figure out how to clean them to really get the dirt out.

8. What’s your favourite place to go when you need to recharge spiritually?

There is a state park I like to go to.  It’s a five mile trek.  I like to go very early, when not many people are around.  Usually before halfway through, I start to feel connected.  Then a little after the half-way mark, hungry. 😉 Breakfast is my prize.  The way back is always faster. LOL!

9. If you were allowed to catch a glimpse of where you might be ten years from now, would you want to? Why or why not?

Yes, but the only thing constant is change. I think we are always changing our future–that nothing is set in stone, because our actions cause effects all the time.  I think that is why it is important to learn to stay in the present moment, as the future is always fluid.

10.  What motivates you to keep posting on your blog?

When I get a comment that I have helped someone.  I hope I do. I certainly get inspired all the time by other bloggers.

Here are my ten nominees:

Bonne Vivante Life

Lavender Reflections

K’Lee (Obzervashunal)

I am grateful for so much today. Usually, I choose a highlight or two for my blog, but I wanted to share more.

I am grateful for the contractor who was helping me at work. Today was his last day and he worked with me for over 10 months on the largest and most visible project at work.

My manager took my contractor, another co-worker, and I to lunch today to thank my contractor but also to thank my co-worker and I on all the work we did on the project which is nearing the end (sort of). As the lead on this project for my region, I feel really happy about this, and I am always grateful for free yummy food. 😉

I am grateful for more rain, because we have a drought situation in California. We need it. However, there was a LOT of rain today, so I am equally grateful for my all weather tires that kept me safe on my drive home.

I am grateful to have worked on location today where I could visit an Asian market for a few items.

I am grateful for central heat. I do not want to take warmth for granted.

I just got a text from my mom that her wireless router stopped working. That was a long-lived router as it used to be mine nearly 10 years ago. I am grateful for my working router that enabled me to do a lot of work today, post some stuff on a forum, and later to post this. Looks like I will need to be on hand to set up a new wireless router for her soon. HaHa!

I read this really great blog of creating a jar in which you can place all the memorable moments, experiences, and and achievements of 2014 in it, from the blog, “For The Style Seeking Girl.” At the end of the year, you can take out all that you place in the jar and reminisce.

How cool is that? I haven’t got an extra jar, but I do have a box in which to fill with memories this year.

I can’t wait until the end of the year to read through all that I have experienced and accomplished! I already know that it will be an amazing year!

Project 2014 in a Jar {Happiness, Positivity & Thankfulness}

20131231-183941.jpgAbout the same time last year, I was ringing in 2013 still very much in pain from a herniated disc. After two short medical leaves, many kinds of treatments and therapy, two MRI’s, and one surgery consult, I am closing 2013 pain free.

A lot happened to me in 2013, but what I will take with me are all the lessons and growth that taught me the deeper meaning of the following:

  • Self-love
  • Forgiveness
  • Inner Peace
  • Gratitude
  • Choice
  • Freedom
  • Trust
  • Healing

The last seven would have been a lot harder to learn and appreciate without the first, Self-Love, and all eight taught me the meaning of unconditional love, and how to give it to others, and also to myself.

Thank you for being with me through my short journey here with this blog, and for your love and support. Please join me as I continue to grow and live my life most fully.
