Today’s quote is from David O. McKay. “Happiness consists not of having, but of being. It is a warm glow of the heart at peace with itself.”

Today’s centering thought is I am peace.

Today’s Sanskrit mantra is Shanti hum, which means “I am peace.”

From today’s message:
I like how Deepak defines the different kind of peace. “Peace is an inner state that comes in many forms. Peace of mind is one. When you have peace of mind, you aren’t worried or stressed. You can go inside and relax.

A deeper peace is free of anxiety about the future – it makes you feel safe and secure.

Even deeper is the peace of self-acceptance. You are okay with who you are.

Then, there is Spiritual peace. Spiritual peace is the contented stillness of the soul. The bible calls this as “the peace that passes all understanding”. When we access this level of peace, we have moved beyond the mere absence of stress, worries, doubt, and insecurity. As valuable as it is to be free of those obstacles, we gain even more when we find Spiritual peace.”

The third day of Oprah and Deepak Chopra’s Expanding Your Happiness Meditation Experience is on finding Spiritual peace.

I am grateful that I have touched on the many kind of peace that Deepak described, but I think that it is important for me to continue to strengthen them all, because I still find myself rattled at times.

Oprah said that Spiritual peace is “a contentedness that is all-encompassing and cannot be taken away. It is something that “creates true and lasting happiness.”

It would be very nice to be at that point of having Spiritual peace at all times. I want that constancy, so that when things go very awry, I will have that “core level well-being,” that cannot usurp me from my stable foundation.

Deepak said that Spiritual peace is not just to help you through the very bad times. It will also be there in times of “love and fulfillment.”
